Matt Garcia joins Aspiration as Community Manager for our Social Source Commons platform. Matt will maintain the SSC blog, engage users to learn how we can enhance the system to better serve their needs, and oversee community outreach for the project, working with the rest of the team to make SSC a more valuable resource for those looking for nonprofit software.
Originally from Ypsilanti, MI, Matt most recently worked in Boston, Massachusetts as an industry analyst with the international health nonprofit Infante Sano. His duties there included networking with similar nonprofits and performing analysis of the industry. Prior to that, Matt was a project editor in the Washtenaw County Department of Public Health. Matt graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007, studying Anthropology and Public Health.
Matt comes to Aspiration as part of the CTC VISTA program, which places and supports Americorps*VISTA members within non-profit organizations across the country that utilize information and communications technologies to address the needs of low-income and at-risk communities. Aspiration is most grateful for the support we’ve received from the CTC VISTA program.
Welcome Matt!
